Wasting food? Do you use a vacuum sealer to preserve your food? Did you know you can reseal chip bags, breakdown larger packages of meat into your families size meals? Food lasts longer and takes less room out of the store packaging. I use a food saver to seal, freeze and store our foods. It makes it easy to preserve a complete meal made in advance, keep leftovers for later use (my family doesn’t like to eat the same thing the next day), a freeze meats/cheese/milk/meals that I bought in bulk on sale.
The name brand bags can be expensive! I buy the larger no name bags on Ebay that cost less. I have never had a problem with them.
When I find a good sale price on a meat like Chicken I buy a lot, repackage it into meal size portions and many times add the spice and seasoning before I seal it. When I want to use the meat I just take it out of the freezer the night before and put it in the fridge. Sometimes I will open the bag and add marinades and then reseal it and let it defrost in the fridge. If it’s still frozen when i want to use it sometimes I just fill my sink with hot water and put the sealed bag in the water until it defrosts.
It makes faster easier cheaper meals!
